Mohamed Wahba

Mohamed is a Partner in our Dispute Resolution team. He has more than 23 years of experience and represents reputable GCC and international corporations in high-value claims involving commercial, labour, insurance, construction and criminal disputes. Mohamed represents his clients in claims involving the attachment of assets, payment order applications, enforcement/nullification of foreign judgments, and arbitral awards in the UAE. He also has extensive experience handling disputes related to banking facilities with a number of banks within the United Arab Emirates.

Mohamed is registered as a lawyer before the Egyptian Cassation Court. He obtained his bachelor of Sharia and Law from Al Azhar University in Egypt, then worked in the legal department of a reputable bank for 8 years. Mohamed has been practising law in Abu Dhabi for 13 years, and he has a wealth of experience in UAE law and procedures.

• Successfully defended a claim valued over AED1 billion against a reputable UAE insurance company involving damages resulting from fault committed by the insured under the insurance policy.
• Successfully defended a claim valued at more than AED7 million for a fire incident.
• Represented a Kuwaiti company in its claim for loss of profits in the amount of AED110 million based on a facility agreement.
• Successfully acted for a UAE investor in his claim valued at AED26 million being the value of his investments in an establishment registered under the name of another investor.
• Successfully defended a claim of AED92 million against our client based on personal guarantee issued by the client.
• Defended a criminal action for a reputable UAE petroleum drilling company.
• Represented a UAE water company in a criminal matter involving the sale of products not complying with the required specifications.
• Represented a major UAE construction company in its claim of AED90 million arising out of the construction agreement.
• Defended an alleged breach of trust criminal action against a local investor. The criminal case was filed against our client accusing him of misappropriating AED29 million.
• Acted for an international company in a complex bankruptcy proceedings valued at over AED12 billion before the Abu Dhabi Courts.
• Represented a well know UAE company in defending an application to enforce a foreign judgment of AED6 million in the UAE.
