  • Mohamed is a Senior Counsel in our Dispute Resolution department. He has over 20 years of litigation experience in the Middle East, advising and handling disputes in the areas of shipping, aviation, financial crime, commercial and banking. He represented high profile GCC companies and international clients in complex litigation matters before all court levels. He also represented clients in resolving their disputes by alternative dispute resolution methods. His clients include some of the world’s largest shipping companies, government agencies, energy companies, port authorities, P&I clubs, airlines, insurers, banks and financial institutions.

    Prior to joining Hadef & Partners, Mohamed worked for major international law firms in Dubai and prominent law firms in Kuwait, Egypt and Australia.

    Mohamed earned his Bachelor of Law from Alexandria University in Egypt and Master of Legal Practice from Western Sydney University in Australia. He has also earned Master of International Trade and Commerce Law from Macquarie University in Australia.

    Mohamed is admitted as solicitor and barrister before the Supreme Court of New South Wales in Australia. He is also admitted before the High Court of Australia and before the Court of Appeal in Egypt. He is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales in Australia and the Egyptian Bar Association.

    • Represented an international bank in its claim to recover US$73 million from a GCC Company. The claim was based on default of facility agreement in the amount of US$150 million.
    • Represented a group of companies in their applications for a freezing injunction before the DIFC Courts against defendants located in various jurisdictions in order to enforce a Court judgment valued more than AED582 million. 
    • Acted for an international construction company in their disputes against various creditors and successfully defended claims valued more than AED300 million.
    • Represented a GCC company in enforcement of arbitral award against local group of companies in the UAE. Successfully enforced the award to recover an amount exceeds AED150 million.
    • Represented the government of one of the Emirates in the UAE in a number of financial crime cases against its former senior officers who committed crimes involving embezzlement, bribery and fraud. The embezzled amount exceeded US$550 million.
    • Defended a claim against a reputable US energy company valued at US$500 million based on a joint venture agreement. 
    • Represented an international construction company in the enforcement proceeding of an arbitral award valued at US$6 million issued by London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) against a reputable defendant in the GCC.
    • Represented an international bank in their enforcement procedures against securities to recover more than AED67 million.
    • Represented an international bank in a financial crime matter involving forgery, fraud and embezzlement valued around AED60 million.
    • Represented an Australian Construction Company in its construction dispute against a Kuwaiti property development company to recover the amount of US$22 million.
    • Acted for a Swiss bank in criminal and civil proceedings involving fraud resulting in the loss of US$30 million.
    • Represented a major German company in a criminal matter involving cybercrime resulting in the loss of US$2 million.
    • Advised and acted for a group of companies in criminal complaints involving the misappropriation of US$25 million.
    • Represented P & I clubs in their dispute with a Kuwaiti Company with respect to the latter’s compensation claim of KWD3.5 million as a result of damages to an oil pipes shipment.
