Abdul Hannan is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution team in Dubai. He possesses a diverse and multi-jurisdictional experience in dispute resolution and is well-versed with litigation, both in the on-shore UAE courts as well as the DIFC Courts. He also represents clients before various arbitration centers including the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and the International Chambers of Commerce (ICC).

Abdul Hannan regularly advises clients on risk-mitigation and works mainly on strategy and advice in dispute resolution matters in the UAE, often with cross-border elements. Other than commercial disputes, his practice extends to white-collar matters, bankruptcy and restructuring, enforcement of foreign judgments and awards and related asset tracing activities.

• Advising a major grain trading group in a multi-jurisdictional dispute expanding over five international jurisdictions in a claim of over US$ 120 million emanating from acquired financial facilities and potential consequences of breach of securities.
• Advising on enforcement of a UK adjudged bankruptcy order in the UAE and assisting the trustee in tracing assets and recovering funds for the bankruptcy estate for liabilities over US$ 50 million.
• Advising a major movie production company in a share-holder dispute and successfully defending a claim of over AED 25 million.
• Advising on the successful enforcement of an arbitration award of over AED 50 million against a major developer in the UAE.
• Advising on internal competition by a procurement manager of a major nuts and spices trading group in the Middle-East causing heavy losses to the group.
