  • Abdallah is an Associate in our Dispute Resolution team in Dubai. Prior to Hadef & Partners, Abdallah worked at a well-regarded civil and commercial litigation firm. Before entering private practice he was a diplomat appointed by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a legal advisor involved in advising and negotiating matters of international cooperation, treatises and regulations.

    Abdallah currently advises clients on matters of complex civil and commercial litigation before the various UAE courts. He acts on a wide range of commercial disputes, including commercial and banking disputes, multi-jurisdictional disputes, execution and assets tracing, corporate investigation, healthcare compliance, shareholders disputes, sponsorship agreements, inheritance matters and matters involving commercial fraud. He specializes in bankruptcy and restructuring related matters involving UAE and non-UAE financial institutions, multi-jurisdictional disputes and high-value creditor/debtor claim disputes.

    Abdallah represents several local and foreign investors including healthcare entities, food and beverage and multinational companies. He obtained his Bachelor of Law from Birzeit University and a Masters of Laws from the University of Melbourne, Australia (specializing in International Trade Law and Arbitration). He is admitted into the Palestinian Bar Association and registered as a legal consultant at the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department. Abdallah is also a member at the International Bar Association. He is fluent in both Arabic and English.

    • Advised the KBBO Group in relation to a first of its kind restructuring in the Abu Dhabi courts. Represented the Debtors and 28 entities in the KBBO Restructuring proceedings which involved 200 matters before UAE courts, French Courts and UK Courts. Following months of complex negotiations with tens of creditors, with the oversight of the court-appointed Trustees, successfully reached an agreed and comprehensive restructuring plan for the Group and the related Applicants which was ratified by the Court.
    • Represented a reputable foreign architect company (as a creditor) in bankruptcy and liquidation proceedings filed against a reputable real estate and development UAE entity. Successfully obtained a judgment against the shareholders and directors of the debtor company for the full amount of the debt owed by the debtor company. Managed to establish the fraudulent acts committed by shareholders and directors which caused financial distress to the debtor company.
    • Represented a court-appointed liquidator in UK liquidation proceedings in bankruptcy proceedings against a UAE entity along with its directors and shareholders. The Court issued its final judgment to declare the UAE entity bankrupt. The Court further held the directors personally liable for the debt owed by the bankrupt entity. The liquidator is currently enforcing the UAE judgment against the directors in the UAE.
    • Advised a healthcare group of companies in several judicial and execution proceedings in the Dubai Courts, including disputes with suppliers, banks and developers. Our representation involved several settlement agreements. Our representation further included advising the client on several healthcare compliance issues. Hadef acted for the client before a Special Judicial Committee appointed by HH Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
    • Advised a foreign shipping and offshore construction company in a creditor-led bankruptcy proceedings against the client. Several settlement agreements were reached with creditors. Our involvement included restructuring and settlement of debts and protecting the assets owned by the client including barges and vessels. Hadef further advised on the acquisition of the mortgaged and attached vessels owned by the client.
    • Represented a creditor in enforcement proceedings before Dubai Courts which include asset tracing in several jurisdictions. A judgment was issued by the DIFC Court to annul transactions aimed to conceal and transfer the assets of the Judgment Debtors. The judgment being enforced was recognized in several jurisdictions including Singapore.
    • Represented the owners of a food and beverage group of companies in an inheritance dispute with the heirs of the previous local sponsor of the companies. The Court of First Instance issued its judgment confirming that the local sponsor was not an actual of the group of companies and that the shares registered in sponsor's name should be transferred to the actual owners and should not be included in the estate.
