  • Theunis heads the Corporate Tax Department in Dubai. He specializes in corporate tax, international tax and tax aspects of structuring and M&A and has been practicing as a tax attorney in South Africa since 2013. Theunis advises on a variety of corporate, commercial, structuring and exchange control issues in respect of tax.

    He has also previously been involved in a number of tax disputes on behalf of large corporates and high-net-worth individuals. He holds Accounting and Law degrees from the University of Stellenbosch, as well as a Masters in Commercial Law and a Master of Commerce in International tax from the University of Cape Town.

    Prior to joining Hadef & Partners, Theunis practiced as a South African tax attorney from 2013 until 2022, where after he worked in Ireland for a short period.

    • Advised a foreign group on the re-domiciliation of its holding company to the UAE.
