Mima Laidlaw

Mima is an Associate in our Corporate team based in Abu Dhabi.

She is a New Zealand qualified solicitor admitted to practice in the High Court of New Zealand and holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Bachelor of Design, each from Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand.

Mima has over six years of experience advising on corporate, M&A and commercial matters.  She assists clients on a broad range of domestic and international transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and general commercial arrangements.  Her experience spans a number of sectors, including technology, agriculture, food and beverage, education, real estate development and start-ups.

Mima is fluent in both English and Arabic.

• Advising a consortium of sellers on the sale of their strategic animal feed business to a leading Abu Dhabi conglomerate with a transaction value exceeding AED 20 million.
• Assisting a foreign state-owned oil and gas company in connection with the structuring and implementation of a large-scale joint venture and investment arrangement in the UAE, with a transaction value exceeding USD 750 million.
• Advising a leading Abu Dhabi investment entity on its proposed acquisition of a diversified portfolio of companies operating in the industrial and healthcare sectors.
• Advising a consortium of VVIP shareholders on the sale of an international school in Abu Dhabi to a leading international education provider, with a transaction value exceeding AED 90 million.
• Advising a leading real estate developer on a joint venture with two prominent developers in connection with a luxury waterfront development in Abu Dhabi, with a project value exceeding AED 200 million.
• Advising a luxury hotel management company on corporate governance and internal corporate arrangements, including shareholder and management governance frameworks.
• Assisting with the acquisition of shares in a leading sleep and respiratory healthcare provider in New Zealand by an international healthcare group, with a transaction value exceeding NZD 10 million.
• Assisting with the completion of multiple venture capital and pre-seed investments for a leading venture capital investor, including a NZD 3 million investment in a New Zealand-based pet food company with operations in the United States.
