Judge Makram is a Senior Legal Consultant in the Dispute Resolution department in the Dubai office.
He has over 31 years of judicial experience, including 25 years in the Egyptian judiciary and six years in the UAE judiciary. Judge Makram advises on civil and commercial disputes, bankruptcy and restructuring, enforcement and complex judicial matters, drawing on his extensive experience as a presiding judge across multiple court levels.
In the UAE, Judge Makram served with the Ras Al Khaimah Courts, where he was a Presiding Judge in the Civil and Commercial Divisions and the Bankruptcy Court under the new law. He also represented the courts on the Ministry of Justice committee responsible for drafting the Executive Regulations of the Bankruptcy Law, and supervised a landmark cross-border restructuring involving operations in the UAE, Bahrain and Belgium.
Prior to joining Hadef & Partners, Judge Makram served in the Egyptian judiciary, including the Public Prosecution, and as a judge in civil, commercial, personal status, bankruptcy and criminal divisions. He later became Deputy President of the South Cairo Court, leading court modernisation and e-litigation initiatives. Judge Makram also served as a lecturer of law for several years at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Al-Azhar University, teaching Civil Law and Legal Theory.
Judge Makram holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. in Public Law from Tanta University, Egypt, and speaks Arabic and English.
