George is a Senior Counsel in the Regulatory and Government Advisory Practice, bringing fifteen years of expertise in government, regulatory, tax advisory, public law, and dispute resolution.
George has extensive experience advising government and private entities on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters. He also acts as an arbitrator in various contractual and construction disputes and provides strategic advice to private clients challenging government decisions.
Before joining Hadef & Partners, George served as a judge for a decade, focusing on government contracts and investment disputes. During this time, he also acted as a legal advisor to key Ministries - Industry, Electricity, and Petroleum - providing strategic counsel on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues. George's advisory role extended to drafting and reviewing various regulations, decisions, contracts, and concession agreements.
George began his career as a corporate lawyer at a prominent financial institution, where he assisted in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating bilateral and syndicated loan agreements, security instruments, guarantees, and service-level agreements. He has also worked as a legal consultant at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., gaining valuable insights into international legal frameworks.
George holds a distinguished academic record, including an LL.M. from New York University School of Law (NYU) and an LL.M. in International Business Law from Indiana University, USA. He also holds an LL.M. in Administrative Law and an LL.B. from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. George is fluent in both English and Arabic. He is duly qualified in New York and Egypt and is a solicitor of England and Wales.
