Alan is a partner in the Banking & Finance team (having been the first Hadef & Partners Head of Banking). He has extensive experience in advising clients on legal aspects in banking, Islamic finance, project finance, UAE debt capital markets, private public initiatives and privatization. His clients include developers, sponsors, banks, government institutions and private entities.
Over the past 25 years, Alan has practiced throughout the Middle East including in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman and Cairo. He has been involved in one way or another since 1998, in all of the UAE’s key major water and power and sewage infrastructure projects.
Prior to working in the Middle East, Alan worked at a Magic Circle global law firm in London, undertaking major institutional commercial property development and funding work and in Dubai on project finance transactions.
Alan is an ex Banking Committee member of the IBA and has spoken at INSOL and at numerous IBA Conferences.
Since 1998 Alan and his team have been involved in the UAE’s groundbreaking PPPs, infrastructure funds and conventional and Islamic debt restructurings. He currently sits on the boards of a number of IWPPs as Company secretary. Alan is recognized for his I(W)PP project financings (both conventional and Islamic) in the UAE.
