  • Ahmad is Head of the Corporate Department. His practice focuses on: corporate structuring and reorganisations such as domestic and cross border mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and family wealth succession planning and structuring. Ahmad regularly acts for local and international public and private corporations in connection with their mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, reorganisations and spinoffs. He also played a key role in structuring major family succession and reorganisations for a number of local and expat families in the UAE and GCC.

    Prior to moving to Dubai, Ahmad practised in the areas of corporate, commercial law and tax for a leading Canadian law firm and the largest institutional investor in Canada. Fluent in English, Arabic and French, Ahmad completed his LLB and a Graduate Degree in Taxation and Commercial Law from Canada.

    • Advising Drake & Scull International PJSC on a novel and complex restructuring under the Emergency Financial Crisis Chapter of the UAE Bankruptcy Law.
    • Advising Tyco International in connection with its acquisition of 75% of shares of KEF Holdings LTD from Dubai International Capital LLC for US$300 million involving a major corporate restructuring exercise.
    • Advising on the acquisition of 52% of the shares held by RAK Ceramics PJSC in Laticrete RAK LLC.
