Abdulla is a Trainee Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution team in Abu Dhabi. He assists on a broad range of contentious matters before the UAE Courts, with experience spanning complex commercial disputes, shareholder disputes, banking and finance matters, white-collar and financial crime cases, employment disputes, bankruptcy proceedings, real estate disputes and intellectual property matters, including trademark claims.
His experience includes assisting on cross-border debt recovery proceedings arising from syndicated lending arrangements, high-value property disputes, shareholder and corporate disputes, tax-related litigation, and proceedings involving allegations of financial misconduct. He has also assisted with precautionary and enforcement measures, recovery claims and other contentious matters involving both local and international parties.
Abdulla's wider experience across Hadef & Partners also includes work within the Corporate & Commercial and Regulatory & Government practices. He has assisted with mergers and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, corporate due diligence and compliance matters. His regulatory experience includes legislative review and benchmarking projects, international taxation matters at government level, export controls relating to strategic goods, entity-specific tax treatment, and the enforcement powers and remedies available to financial regulators, including the recovery of public funds, precautionary measures and administrative penalties.
This broader commercial and regulatory background complements Abdulla's dispute resolution practice and provides him with an understanding of the underlying corporate, regulatory and transactional issues that frequently arise in complex commercial disputes.
Abdulla holds an LLB from Durham University and is currently completing the Legal Practice Course with The University of Law alongside his training contract, with a view to qualifying as a solicitor of England and Wales. During his time at Durham University, he was involved in student legal societies and mooting activities.
Abdulla is fluent in English and Arabic.
