Leading UAE law firm Hadef & Partners is pleased to announce that Judge Makram Elsoudany has joined the firm as Senior Legal Consultant in its Dispute Resolution department, based in the Dubai office.
Judge Makram brings more than 31 years of judicial experience, including 25 years in the Egyptian judiciary and six years in the UAE judiciary. His practice focuses on civil and commercial disputes, banking disputes, restructuring and insolvency, enforcement, and complex litigation, drawing on extensive experience as a presiding judge across multiple court levels.
During his time in the UAE, Judge Makram served with the Ras Al Khaimah Courts, where he was a Presiding Judge in the Civil and Commercial Divisions and the Bankruptcy Court under the new bankruptcy law. He also represented the courts on the Ministry of Justice committee tasked with drafting the Executive Regulations of the Bankruptcy Law, and supervised a landmark cross-border restructuring involving operations in the UAE, Bahrain, and Belgium.
Prior to this, Judge Makram served in the Egyptian judiciary, including roles within the Public Prosecution and as a judge across civil, commercial, personal status, bankruptcy, and criminal divisions. He later became Deputy President of the South Cairo Court, where he led court modernisation initiatives and the implementation of e-litigation systems. In parallel, he served as a lecturer at Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Sharia and Law, teaching Civil Law and Legal Theory.
