The University of Sharjah has published a joint research paper by Dr. Rami Omar, Partner – Dispute Resolution at Hadef & Partners in the University of Sharjah Journal of Legal Sciences, titled “The Role of Investment Fund Management Provisions in Protecting Investors under UAE Legislation.”
The paper examines the legal framework governing the management of investment funds under UAE legislation and assesses the adequacy of the safeguards established to protect investors. It considers the obligations of investment fund managers, including disclosure and transparency requirements, the management of conflicts of interest, and the circumstances in which civil liability may arise.
The paper also identifies areas where the existing legislative framework could be strengthened, offering recommendations concerning fund governance, management responsibilities and investor protection.
