  • Our diverse team of international and Emirati lawyers have a wealth of arbitration experience in the region, with a number of specialist arbitration practitioners having undertaken complex arbitration for several decades.

    We act for both claimants and respondents. Our lawyers are highly skilled and have extensive knowledge of the laws and procedures governing international arbitration. We provide our clients with comprehensive legal advice and support throughout the arbitration process, including assistance with the selection of arbitrators, the preparation of pleadings and submissions, and the conduct of hearings.

    Locally and internationally, our services include:

    • Representation in domestic and international arbitration under all major arbitration rules.
    • Representation in arbitration-related proceedings in all UAE Federal and local courts and tribunals.
    • Representation in arbitration-related proceedings before the ADGM and DIFC Courts.
    • Representation in alternative dispute resolution including mediation, conciliation and expert determination.
    • Providing advice on expert evidence for foreign court/arbitration proceedings where UAE law is relevant.
    • Cross-border evidence gathering and asset tracing.
    • Investigative work and preparation of witness statements.
    • Preparing dispute resolution clauses and arbitration agreements.
    • Advice on matters of public international law including international treaties and trade agreements.
    • Successful before the Court of Appeal in a case involving nullification/annulment proceedings with respect to an arbitration award of approximately AED130 million brought against our client under the UAE's new Arbitration Law.
    • Advised on and commencing DIAC/DCCI arbitration proceedings for a large Dubai based client with regard to a claim in relation to a marketing services contract for the PR, advertising and marketing for one of their largest Dubai projects.
    • Representing a multinational construction company in nullifying a multi million dirham arbitration award before the UAE courts.
    • Representing a large conglomerate in 21 separate arbitrations commenced by it against a mall operator seeking damages for breach of various lease agreements.
    • Successfully representing a large Indian media group in defending a wrongful termination claim for US$90 million relating to the purchase of a cinema chain in the UAE.
    • Acting for the builder of a residential estate in Abu Dhabi in relation to a claim of over AED250 million.
    • Acting as co-counsel for an unincorporated JV composed of one British and one UAE contractor in a Dubai-seated DIAC arbitration against a government-owned employer.
